GTA VI is still due on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, according to the release schedule in Take-Two's fiscal third-quarter results. Chief executive Strauss Zelnick added in interviews that marketing for the game would get going in the summer.
What it means for players
The date held, and the campaign leading up to launch was due to begin within months. The results did not include a price or a pre-order date.
Zelnick made a point of how unusual it was for him to give marketing timing at all. He told The Game Business that doing so was "a huge departure from what I usually say", because Take-Two normally leaves such announcements to its labels, Kotaku reported. Asked by IGN about the November date, he answered: "I feel good about it. Very good about it." He tied that confidence to the marketing beats drawing closer.
In the results statement, Zelnick pointed to the launch, along with momentum elsewhere in the business, as grounds for still expecting record net bookings in Take-Two's 2027 fiscal year.
Background
The game was first planned for fall 2025, moved to May 26, 2026, and then to November 19, 2026, as VGC recapped. VGC also relayed Zelnick's answer to Variety on whether boxed copies would arrive after launch: "not the plan" (our report on that rumor). The timeline follows the release date's history.
