Questions

This page is updated when Rockstar announces the time. (Checked on 2026-10-19: Rockstar's GTA VI site, Rockstar Newswire, Rockstar Support, PlayStation Blog, Xbox Wire)

When is the GTA 6 release date?

Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. (Rockstar Newswire; Take-Two press release)

When can I preload GTA 6?

Digital pre-orders can preload from midnight local time on November 12, 2026, a week before launch. Physical copies, a box with a download code and no disc, go on sale the same day so their owners can preload too. (Rockstar Support; Take-Two press release)

Why does the countdown use my time zone?

A release date is a calendar day, and Thursday, November 19, 2026 begins at a different moment in each time zone. The countdown reads your device's clock and time zone, so it shows the time left and the time where you are. Nothing about your location is sent anywhere.

Which platforms is GTA 6 coming to?

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. (Rockstar Newswire; Take-Two press release) No PC version has been announced; the PC release tracker on this site lists any official statement. The editions page compares the Standard and Ultimate Editions.

How this page works

  • Every date and time here comes from Rockstar, Take-Two, the PlayStation Blog or Xbox Wire, listed under Sources. Unlock times from store listings, leaks or guesses are not used.
  • Until Rockstar announces an unlock time, the countdown runs to the start of the release date in your time zone and is labelled as the release date.
  • The countdown runs in your browser from your device's clock and time zone. Nothing is sent anywhere.
  • The site's news check looks at the official channels every day and updates this page when Rockstar confirms more. More launch answers are in the launch FAQ and on the timeline.
