A day after Grand Theft Auto VI's second trailer appeared, Rockstar Games said it had been watched more than 475 million times across platforms in its first 24 hours, and described it as "the biggest video launch of all time," VGC reported. Rockstar shared the number with The Hollywood Reporter, according to GTA Boom.

How to read the number

The tally is Rockstar's own, added up across every platform that carried the video rather than taken from a single site. Trailer 2 was also reposted widely on X by console makers, outlets and fan accounts, GTA Boom noted.

That makes it a different measure from the YouTube-only figures attached to Trailer 1 in December 2023, so the two are not a like-for-like comparison.

Against movie trailers

Coverage set the figure against recent film trailers. Per VGC, the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer reportedly reached 365 million on day one, while the one for The Fantastic Four: First Steps passed 200 million.

The trailer's soundtrack got a lift too. VGC cited a Spotify estimate of a 182,000% jump in streams for "Hot Together" by The Pointer Sisters.
