GTA VI is staying on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Take-Two listed that date in its fourth-quarter and fiscal 2026 results, filed with the SEC on May 21. On the earnings call that day, chief executive Strauss Zelnick said again that marketing for the game would begin this summer, GameRant reported.
What it means for players
No delay. That mattered because the days before the call had been jittery: an anonymous 4chan post claimed the game would slip to February 2027, and a Best Buy affiliate email had pointed to pre-order dates that came to nothing. Kotaku said the 4chan claim had no credibility. The results brought no price, pre-order date or new trailer, though.
Zelnick told IGN, as quoted by Kotaku: "I've been saying for some time that the release date is November 19." Kotaku also quoted him telling GamesIndustry.biz that the game still needs marketing, though the approach would change from 13 years ago, when the company still bought network TV: "We won't be buying a lot of network television."
The forecast
For fiscal 2027, the year ending March 31, 2027, Take-Two forecasts net bookings of $8.0 billion to $8.2 billion. In the results, Zelnick said the launch, together with the rest of Take-Two's portfolio, would drive "new record levels of operating performance." According to GamesBeat, Take-Two put the forecast at about 20% growth, mainly because of GTA VI. The figure covers the whole company, so it is not a sales target for the game alone.
