Rockstar reportedly held talks with Roblox and Fortnite creators about GTA VI
Digiday reported early talks between Rockstar and top creators about building in GTA VI. Rockstar has not confirmed any creator tools.

Rockstar Games has met with some of the biggest creators on Roblox and Fortnite to discuss letting them build their own experiences inside GTA VI, Digiday reported on February 17, 2025. The media trade outlet based its story on three industry insiders it did not name. Rockstar did not reply to Digiday before publication and has not confirmed the meetings.
What the report says
Creators who already focus on GTA were part of the conversations too, according to Digiday. The concept it described would let them reshape parts of the game's world and assets so they could bring in characters and brands they own, and perhaps sponsors as well. Digiday called the talks "relatively open-ended" and said it was not clear what creators would gain beyond the exposure. It did not say how they would be paid, or whether any of this would live in an online mode.
VGC and Push Square passed the report on without sourcing of their own.
What it means for players
This was a report about early discussions, not an announced feature. Rockstar has not announced any creator tools for GTA VI. Take-Two's June 2026 pre-order announcement says the game "features a single-player experience" and does not mention an online mode for it. Bloomberg has reported that an online component is expected in 2027, Beebom noted, but that is not an announcement either. The online launch tracker follows that question.
Background
Player-made worlds already thrive on GTA V through roleplay servers. FiveM lets players run their own multiplayer servers, and Rockstar bought Cfx.re, the team behind it and other popular modding tools, in 2023, as Digiday and VGC both pointed out.
