GamesBeat reported on October 13 that Rockstar intends to release Grand Theft Auto VI on PC between January and March 2027. Its information comes from four unnamed industry sources familiar with the studio's plans. Rockstar did not answer GamesBeat's request for comment, and neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has announced a PC version.

What it means for PC players

Officially, nothing has changed. GTA VI is confirmed only for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, launching November 19, 2026. If the report is accurate, the wait on PC would be measured in months, not years: as VGC points out, the window would put the PC release no more than about four months after consoles.

Until Rockstar says something, treat any PC date as unconfirmed. Our PC release tracker lists only official statements and will be updated if one arrives.

Background

Rockstar has usually brought its games to PC some time after consoles. VGC puts the gap at roughly a year and seven months for GTA V and about seven months for GTA IV.

Take-Two has said little on the subject. At a short investor meeting on September 17, Take-Two's Strauss Zelnick said "the PC platform is becoming more and more important to our company over time," GamesRadar+ reported. He did not confirm a PC version of GTA VI.
